Our Philosophy

Nestle In Preschool and Early Learning Centre Philosophy

At the core of the philosophy of our centre is the belief in the value of building and sustaining positive and reciprocal relationships.

Our service acknowledges and pays respect to the Widjibal-Wybal people and Elders past, present and emerging of the Bundjalung Nation, the traditional owners of the land upon which Goonellabah Nestle In Preschool and Early Learning Centre is built.

Relationships with Children

The Nestle In community truly believe in the importance of creating trusting relationships so children have positive early learning experiences, a strong sense of wellbeing, are able to build upon emotional intelligence and are open to learning through play. We believe in the holistic development of children where we value children’s voices in our decision-making and programs of learning.

Relationships with families/communities

The relationships we build with families and our local communities are pivotal for our centre to be inclusive of all children and families. We build upon family’s confidence in us to provide a welcoming environment where diversity is not only celebrated but encouraged so it is embedded into the values and programs of all facets of our service.

Relationships with the environment

We believe in the importance of using our environment as the third teacher in which the environment supports positive behaviours, child-led learning experiences, sustainable practices, problem-solving, challenging experiences, is thought provoking , aesthetically pleasing and promotes curiosity for learning. Children are scaffolded and supported to look after our environment and value the natural landscape on where we are built.

Relationships with Educators

The service employs passionate Educators who we build genuine relationships with who in turn inspire children to begin their lifelong love of learning. Our Educators use the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework to guide their interactions and curriculum planning to nurture, teach and support children in our service.

Relationship with Reflection

Nestle In use reflection as our strongest tool to strive for quality improvement. We believe that knowledge is infinite and we are dedicated to using leadership strategies, professional development and our Quality Improvement Plan to consistently provide quality education and care to the children and families who access our service.
